Meet at Skyrail Caravonica by a Hot Air coach, there's a one hour transfer through the Kuranda rainforest. Pickup times are confirmed on booking.

Experience the fun & unique sensation of a hot air balloon ride over the North Queensland, Australia. Every day we take off from a different location, all dependent on the breeze, we fly on the Atherton Tablelands, west of Cairns. Enjoy the picturesque landscape as the day begins. Check in at Skyrail Smithfield station for your 10am Skyrail to Kuranda.

Board your Skyrail and take in the many different shades of green of the Rainforest and spectacular views of Cairns as you journey down. It will take approximately 1 1/2 hours to get from Smithfield Station to the Kuranda Station. There are some exciting stops along the way as you change carriages. Make sure you take the time to take a walk along the Rainforest boardwalk or take a look at the interesting interpretive centre. Guided ranger talks are also available, please check with Skyrail for the timings.

Arrive in Kuranda, take notice of the Train Station directly across from the Skyrail terminal as you will need to check in at the Train Station before 1.45 pm for your Scenic rail journey back. 

You have free time, if you come out of the Skyrail terminal and head down the street towards the right you will be on Coondoo St which is two short blocks from Kuranda's main street Therwine Street. There you will find the Heritage Markets, plenty of cafes and restaurants to grab some lunch, also many local artefacts and souvenirs. 

There are lots of additional activities such as The Butterfly Sanctuary, Koala Gardens and River Boats tours.

Arrive at the Kuranda Station to check in with Kuranda Scenic Railway for your 2pm Train ride to Freshwater Station. Travel on the historic mining railway line through the ruggard Macalister Range, trek the winding mountains through tunnels and witness the waterfalls along the way. 

The train has an overhead audio playing throughout the journey pointing out places of interest and the amazing history of how the railway was built, in total this will take about 1.5 hours. 

Arrive at the Freshwater station,and the Skyrail coach will drop you back to Skyrail Caravonica to where your vehicle is located.
